In Philadelphia on a crisp fall morning, 78-year-old Carolyn Marvin was preparing to confront the city's food delivery robots. According to the Guardian, the semi-retired professor has become a local celebrity for facing down the growing number of robots delivering food in the city. The Guardian reported that Marvin met its reporter and a photographer in an alley opposite a garage called Patriot Parking. There, she laid out ground rules for what she described as a robot-disrupting expedition, including asking one of them to keep watch for police while she blocked a robot. The plan, as described by the Guardian, was to identify a suitable robot, follow it to a busy sidewalk, and have Marvin stand directly in front of it to stop its progress. The reporter and photographer would take turns watching for police during the protest. Marvin told the Guardian, "It's my first amendment right to protest."
