According to The Japan Times, relations between Japan and China show few signs of thaw one year after Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's remarks about Taiwan. The Japan Times reported that the ongoing dispute between the two countries began following those remarks, which Takaichi made in parliament on Nov. 7, 2025.
