Aman was pulled over by City of London police this week after riding through a red light, but instead of receiving a £50 fine, he was taken into a roadside gazebo to watch a bike safety film, according to the Guardian. He was one of 30 cyclists stopped within the first 20 minutes of a new morning operation by the force, the Guardian reported. Under the scheme, riders caught jumping red lights are given a choice between watching a roadside safety video or paying the standard £50 penalty, as part of an effort to discourage the behaviour without immediately issuing fines.
