According to the Guardian, Jimmy Anderson is in discussion with Surrey about playing county cricket for them next season, following his departure from Lancashire. The Guardian reported Surrey, a Division One team, have put a contract offer to the 44-year-old, and the club is increasingly optimistic he will accept what could be a final chapter in his career. Anderson received many approaches from other clubs after Lancashire let him go last month, ending a 25-year association with Old Trafford. Nottinghamshire are also keeping an eye on the England record wicket-taker's position.
