The Six Nations and Sanzaar unions have reached an agreement to market their media rights and commercial deals together, the Guardian reported. According to the Guardian, the arrangement marks the first time the two groups will sell their rights collectively, using a revenue-sharing model intended to increase income. A new rights management agency will be responsible for overseeing the sales. The Guardian reported that the deal is described as the first of its kind in sport. Under the plan, southern hemisphere nations will take a share of profits from the Six Nations and British & Irish Lions tours, while European countries will gain from broadcast and sponsorship income from the Rugby Championship and the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series between New Zealand and South Africa.
