According to the Guardian, ministers are aiming to regulate ebikes left parked in a way that obstructs pavements. The Guardian reported that a consultation led by the Department for Transport will consider parking standards, fleet sizes and insurance requirements. Its aim is to create national standards on parking, replacing the current patchwork of agreements between individual bike companies and councils. The move forms part of a wider effort to address antisocial behaviour, including cyclists running red lights, the Guardian reported.
