President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with leaders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front at Malacañang on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Presidential Peace Adviser Sec. Mel Senen Sarmiento announced the meeting on Thursday. In a Facebook post, Sarmiento said he accompanied the President during the discussion with the MILF leaders.
