According to the Guardian, the Milburn review into youth employment will reportedly recommend a state-backed “opportunity revolution” to create and subsidise paid work for thousands of disabled young people. The former minister behind the review is set to say the government should support such a programme. The review, due to be published this month, is also expected to propose “flexi-jobs” alongside subsidies and intensive skills support. These measures are intended to help disabled and chronically ill people aged 16 to 24 secure employment. The Guardian reported that the review will call for a jobs “revolution” as part of efforts to reverse labour market discrimination against this group.
