According to MercoPress, the US-based group Bishop Accountability unveiled a list in Lima on Thursday naming 77 Catholic clergy in Peru who have faced public allegations of sexually abusing minors. The publication came only days before Pope Leo XIV is due to start a tour of South America. The pontiff previously spent more than two decades living in Peru. Victims, together with Bishop Accountability, urged the pope to adopt specific measures in response, among them the creation of a truth commission.
