The Guardian reported that Dr Catherine Williams, the chief executive of the independent think tank the Centre for Public Integrity, launched a report on Thursday examining how the federal government uses automated decision-making tools. The report, titled "Computer Says No", calls for reform, including an audit and a public register covering all automated decision-making. Williams said, according to the Guardian, that without greater transparency and legislation governing algorithms and artificial intelligence in decision-making, the government risks repeating the robodebt scandal.
