The Guardian reported that Philippe Jaenada, the winner of France's most prestigious literary prize, has acknowledged using artificial intelligence while writing his novel. Jaenada won the Prix Goncourt on Tuesday for L’Inconnue du quai de Javel, translated as The Unknown Woman of the Quai de Javel. Speaking to France Inter radio on Wednesday, he said he had turned to AI three times during the writing process. He explained that he used ChatGPT to “play with the reader,” according to The Guardian. His admission came barely a day after he collected the award, and shortly after the prize jury removed a different book from its longlist over allegations of AI use.
