The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that southbound lanes of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) will be closed for repair work beginning Friday night, Oct. 30, as part of the highway’s ongoing rehabilitation. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the closures are scheduled for the Undas weekend, a period of high traveler traffic. The second phase of the project will affect three specific sections of the road. The first stretch is near the NEPA Q-Mart Bus Station, while the other two sections are further down the highway past the main EDSA corridor. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and expect delays. DPWH officials emphasized that the lane closures are temporary and essential to complete the repairs efficiently. They urged road users to cooperate with traffic control measures and to monitor updates for any changes in the schedule. The agency also reminded commuters to use designated alternate roads to avoid congestion.
