HOUSTON, Nov 4 - Trade and legal experts told The Straits Times on Wednesday that Democrats' victory in congressional elections has given the party a platform to examine President Donald Trump's approach to trade. According to The Straits Times, the new majority provides Democrats with greater visibility and a public voice to question tariffs and other trade decisions pursued by the White House. However, experts cited by The Straits Times said that advantage stops short of the legislative power needed to reverse those policies. Democrats would not have enough support to override a presidential veto if they voted to lift the tariffs or withdraw trade authorities granted to the president.
