The Guardian reported that Historic England’s heritage at risk register grew by close to two hundred new entries. Among them were a castle from William the Conqueror’s reign and a Swiss-style cottage in Kent where Charles Dickens wrote, the outlet said. The Guardian also noted that a moorland area in North Yorkshire was severely damaged by a wildfire this summer. The fresh batch of listings brought the already extensive risk list to nearly two hundred additional historic places.
