The Irrawaddy reported that airstrikes in Myanmar increased at the same time as an ASEAN envoy's visit to the country.

According to The Irrawaddy, the attacks hit a maternity clinic, a school, a monastery and other civilian sites, killing at least 16 people, among them four children.

The strikes followed the arrival of Maria Lazaro, who came on a humanitarian mission, the report said.
