Australia mounted a recovery in the third Test at Newlands after South Africa declared on 425 for nine. Alex Carey and Josh Inglis led the tourists’ effort to keep the series decider within reach.

Rain disrupted the opening days before South Africa’s lower order strengthened the home side’s position. The match is scheduled to run through 31 October in Cape Town.
