The Guardian reported that hackers gained access to control systems at three cold stores in France that stock vital blood products. France's national blood service, the EFS, said temperature and defrosting thresholds were pushed to very high levels during the incident, which was described as an apparent escalation of recent cyber-attacks on fridges and freezers across Europe. The EFS said its alarm systems alerted technicians in time for them to intervene, preventing the stored products from being compromised.
