Singapore's Parliament on Nov. 4 approved amendments to the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act, VnExpress International reported. The revised law gives authorities stronger enforcement powers and raises penalties for companies connected to air pollution from forest fires. Under the updated measures, firms linked to transboundary haze could face $15 million fines, with arrest also possible.
