MANILA — According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Malacañang issued a reminder on Wednesday telling authorities to perform their responsibilities properly and stay within the law. The palace statement came in response to allegations that former House Speaker Martin Romualdez had been permitted to exit detention with assistance from a jail warden. Retired columnist Ramon Tulfo also alleged that a jail warden cut the power supply, which disabled CCTV cameras.
