Aston Villa is considering legal action against Jamie Carragher following what the club described as unacceptable comments about the team and its supporters, The Guardian reported.
Nassef Sawiris, the club's chair, announced the potential legal move in a statement on X on Friday evening, according to the publication. The dispute reportedly began after Carragher suggested Unai Emery might consider the Manchester United job, which drew criticism from Villa supporters.
Carragher then told fans to be quiet and stated that Villa would never be Manchester United, The Guardian said. The club has not specified what form any legal action would take.
