According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Malacañang announced Friday it is seeking a more thorough review of the circumstances that led to Martin Romualdez receiving help from a personal assistant while held at New Quezon City Jail. The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that Romualdez, a former Speaker and cousin of President Marcos, is detained at the facility in connection with plunder. Palace press officer Claire Castro told reporters, as cited by the Inquirer, that any special arrangement of that kind, if substantiated, would amount to extravagance.
