According to MercoPress, Ibero-American foreign ministers gathered in Madrid and unanimously supported Argentina's position on the Falklands. The ministers approved a special communiqué endorsing Argentina's sovereignty claim over the islands, MercoPress reported. They also called on Argentina and the United Kingdom to resume negotiations. The approval came on the eve of the Hamburg hearing on the Sea Lion oil project, according to MercoPress.
